BRANCHES OF THE SOCIETY


The Known World of the Society for Creative Anachronism extends over the United States, parts of Canada, parts of Europe and Asia, Australia, and elsewhere throughout the world. There are currently seventeen different kingdoms. These kingdoms are:

The West Kingdom
Northern California and Nevada, Alaska, Japan, Korea and Pacific Rim
The Kingdom of the East
US: eastern Pennsylvania, eastern New York, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine.
Canada: Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
The Middle Kingdom
US: Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, a nip of Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North and South Dakota.
Canada: Manitoba, and a bit of Ontario.
The Kingdom of Atenveldt
Arizona
The Kingdom of Meridies
Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, most of Arkansas, Tennessee, almost all of Georgia, a bit of the panhandle of Florida, and small portions of both Kentucky and Virginia.
The Kingdom of Caid
Southern California, Greater Las Vegas Area, Hawaii, and New Zealand
The Kingdom of Ansteorra
Oklahoma, most of Texas.
The Kingdom of Atlantia
Maryland, most of Virginia, North and South Carolina, a bit of Georgia.
The Kingdom of An Tir
US: Oregon, Washington, the northern tip of Idaho
Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories.
The Kingdom of Calontir
Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Northern Arkansas.
The Kingdom of Trimaris
Majority of Florida, Panama, and Antarctica.
The Kingdom of the Outlands
New Mexico, most of Colorado, parts of Wyoming and Nebraska, and El Paso and Hudspeth counties of Texas.
The Kingdom of Drachenwald
Europe, Africa, Middle East
The Kingdom of Artemisia
Montana, southern Idaho, most of Utah, and western Colorado and Wyoming
The Kingdom of Æthelmearc
western Pennsylvania, western New York, and West Virginia.
The Kingdom of Ealdormere
Canada: Ontario
The Kingdom of Lochac
Australia

The kingdoms are further divided into principalities, baronies, shires, colleges, and cantons. The basic criteria for the branches is a subscribing membership of certain numbers and a staff of officers. Kingdoms need at least 400 members, Principalities 100 members, Baronies 25 members, and Shires require at least 5 members. Groups are styled "incipient" until the time they officially request, and are approved, to become a group.
