Court Dance for Pirates
Instructor: Lady Dubhchobhlaigh inghean uí Dhiarmada (Dovey)
Day: Friday Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am
This class is an introduction to Italian dance for fencers. The class will focus on presenting the advantages of Italian dance as a supplement to martial training. We will go over dance steps and I will teach parts of several period dances (possibly a whole dance depending on time). I will provide hand outs with descriptions of steps. There is no fee for this class and no size limit. However, anyone who is not old enough to legally fence in the SCA must have the permission of the instructor to participate. Participants need not be rapier fighters, but those who are encouraged to wear/bring their fencing gear. No knowledge of Italian dance is necessary.
